A much closer match involving Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi took place at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala. However, the outcome was the same, as the Magi outwrestled the Alabama Crimson Tide, 73-34. Rico Football took center stage once again: quarterback Ricky Cojuangco passed for 230 yards and two touchdowns then rushed for 270 more yards and three more scores for a grand total of 500 yards of offense and five touchdowns. That's one touchdown per length of the field, if you do the match.

The Iron Pump, halfback Dan Roxas, ran for 163 yards and score while backup and offensive captain Danny Russ Hanover ran for 98 yards and three majors. Wide receiver David Culver Page had four catches for 54 yards and a touchdown and also led in blocking with 26 pancakes while wideout Tony Graham Bell added 23.

On defense, middle linebacker Keenan Osunbor led the way with 13 total tackles but it was cornerback Greg Essien that had a big afternoon. Essien, the great-grandson of Ghanaian footballing legend Michael Essien, had 11 tackles, a sack and an interception.

The Magi improve to 3-0 and hit the road against next week to face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
