Mitakihara blow apart South Carolina, 79-10

Quarterback Ricky Cojuangco passed for 361 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 100 yards and two more scores as Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi crushed the South Carolina Gamecocks, 79-10, at Sakura Bowl Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Halfback Dan Roxas ran for 75 yards and a touchdown, wide receiver Brandon Park caught six passes for 160 yards and a score, wideout Xavier Cooper casught five passes for 85 yards and a major and wideout Tony Graham Bell caught five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Left tackle Michael Aryee led the blockers with 11 pancakes while right guard Jamal Ali Muhammad and left guard Randall bancey added 10 pancakes each. Defensive tackle Mike Tsvangirai led the defense in tackling with 10 tackles and two sacks, while cornerback Kelvin Davis had two interceptions and middle linebacker Keenan Osunbor had nine tackjles and a sack.

"Our players were ready for what South Carolina was ready to dish out," said Coach Kaname after the game. "We knew we were in for a fight and they worked all practice this week to neutralize the ground game because the Gamecocks were dangerous on the ground. We forced them to go to the air and we got a few turnovers off of them. Very proud of the men and we're close to reaching our destination."

Mitakihara improve to 11-0 and conclude the season on Nov. 12 at Sakura Bowl Stadium against Coach Kaname's son, Akiyuki, and the Texas Longhorns.
