Mitakihara shoot down Ole Miss, 63-23

It was a quiet night for quarterback Ricky Cojuangco, who left the game late due to injury, but Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi used the ground attack to silence the Ole Miss Rebels, 63-23, at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Cojuangco passed for 165 yards and a touchdown and ran for 157 more yards and two more scores.

His backup, Rajiv Singh, also scored a touchdown through the air and on the ground. Halfback Dan Roxas ran for 154 yards, halfback Billy Shaw ran for 134 yards and a score, and both halfback Joseph Annan and wide receiver Jason Saka also scored a touchdown on the ground. Wide receiver Zac Chabangu led the receivers with three catches for 57 yards.

Left tackle Michael Aryee and right tackle Andy Adusei were blocking machines in their own right with 19 pancakes each. Three others players has six pancakes apiece. Cornerback Greg Essien led the defense with 12 tackles and an interception while left end Jevon pacde had nine tackles and a sack. Three other players had a sack each, including middle linebacker Jeremy Ogboshogo, who also had the other interception for the Magi.

"I think we will be resting the starters on Magia Day because we get a rare turnaround of having two games in three days," said Coach Kaname after the game. "We will bring out the second string and give [offensive captain] Ray [Lyles] his curtain call."

Madoka improve to 11-0 on the season and conclude the regular season on Monday against the Old Dominion Monarchs.
