Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi have hit a major milestone. They have won their 50th national championship in football after lynching the UCLA Bruins 136-26 in the 2064 BCS National Championship Game at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, La. The Magi elected to go through the ground for the win, going to the air sporadically.

"This is like a dream come true," said quarterback Ricky Cojuangco, who passed for 118 yards and a touchdown but ran for 465 yards and six more touchdowns, despite throwing two interceptions. "Our guys really worked hard to get the win and now we can celebrate because we are now the first-ever program to reach 50 national championships in football. This is something special.

"I want to thank my coaches, my teammates, my fellow classmates, my wife Yukina, Doge, everybody watching in all are wonderful and because of all of you, I'm proud to be a Mitakihara Magi."

It wasn't just Rico Football laying down the law on the ground attack for Madoka. Halfback Dan Roxas ran for 347 yards and six touchdowns, halfback Billy Shaw ran for 263 yards and four scores and fullback James Stanley rushed for 46 yards and another major. Shaw led the blockers with 11 pancakes while tight end Terry Boulstridge added eight pancakes.

Five different players on defense had an interception each, including cornerback Kelvin Davis, who returned one 46 yards for a touchdown; and strong safety Richard Aquino, who led the team in tackling with 14 tackles. Free safety Carmen Santos and middle linebacker Austin Novak had 13 tackles each, while defensive tackle Xavier Mpong had a couple of sacks.

Mitakihara finish the season 13-0.
