Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi will have some major question marks at wide receiver, as freshman wideout Sean Acheampong has elected to transfer to Alabama, citing playing time issues.

"I want to play, period," Acheampong said in a face-to-face meeting with Coach Kaname and wide receivers coach Ryuta Kasugano. "I don't care where it is."

"Alabama will be on the schedule as a result of the decision made by Sean," said Coach Kaname at a special press conference. "He's already packing his bags and heading back stateside immediately. It's never good to have these meetings with players that are selfish and demand playing time when they need to know where they stand in terms of seniority.

"We rarely have players transfer from our school, and those who do have forfeited their right to winning championships. Our players need to be satisfied that they are here, or we are not doing our job."

In other news, Darrell Hashida has been hired as the new offensive coordinator at Mitakihara, replacing D.W. Hinoi, who has been named the head coach at the University of Iowa. Recently graduated right tackle Andrew Coley Farina has been named as the new offensive line coach.

"It's been a long journey, and I'm just glad that I'm finally ready to call the shots for the Magi on offense," said Coach Hashida. "My late father, Daru, never got to be an offensive coordinator, so for our family, this is a little bit of history in the making. I dedicate my career to my dad, who's now watching all of this out there somewhere. I also thank the coaches and players for helping me get to where I am now as a coach. This goes out to all of them."

"This is a new adventure for me," said Coach Coley Farina, who was now seen donning a Magi cap. He already graduated from the university with a degree in kinesiology with an emphasis on sports management. "I am ready for this adventure and I call on everyone associated with this program to support our team next season because it will be a fun one, I promise you that."

The 2062 Magi football schedule will be announced at a later date.
