Despite giving up a safety in the first quarter, Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi started 2065 right from where they left off: with a 104-33 rout of the Clemson Tigers at Clemson Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C. Halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 187 yards and three touchdowns, halfback Gary Gumede ran for 111 yards and fullback James Stanley ran for 106 yards and another major. Wide receiver Jason Saka caught three passes for 33 yards and a touchdown while fellow wideout Dee Dee Sonoda led the team in blocking with 13 pancakes. Wideout Zac Chabangu added 11.

Middle linebacker Ryan Kwarasey led the defense with 16 tackles and two interceptions. Cornerback Lea Eino and left outside linebacker Takuto Itsuka each returned an interception for a touchdown. Cornerback Tarzan Takagi added 11 tackles on the night. In his debut at punt returner, halfback Clay Robinson returned a punt 81 yards for a touchdown.
