Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi earned their first shutout in just under a year with a comprehensive 107-0 victory over the San Diego State Aztecs at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C. With the win, the Magi secure the Awai Oohoshi Cup for at least another year. Quarterback Haruki Takayama passed for 223 yards and three touchdowns while backup Brad Parham passed for 226 yards and two more scores in relief.

Halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns while catching six passes for 64 yards and a score. Halfback Gary Gumede ran for 84 yards and a touchdown, halfback Ryan Johnson ran for three short majors and wide receiver Jason Saka caught six passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Center Marcus Anderson led the blockers on offense with nine pancakes while left tackle Jasper Tanaka and left guard Sean Scott added six pancakes. Left end Shintarou Okabe led the tacklers on defense with 10 tackles and two sacks while defensive tackle Sean Yamashita added six tackles and two more sacks. Cornerbacks Victor Ejide and Tarzan Takagi each had two interceptions.

Mitakihara improve to 9-0 and continue their season in what may go down as the mismatch of the season: a date with the Akron Zips.
