On paper, the game between Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi and the Akron Zips looked to be a blatant mismatch. Turns out, the Zips defense stood tall in reducing Madoka's offensive output to 69 points in a 69-7 victory for the Magi at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback Haruki Takayama led the offense with 356 passing yards and four touchdowns.

Halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 122 yards, halfback Gary Gumede ran for 46 yards and a touchdown, wide receiver Dee Dee Sonoda caught five passes for 127 yards and two majors and wide receiver Jason Saka had five catches for 90 yards and a score. Center Marcus Anderson led the blockers with 15 pancakes while right guard Bo Aoyama added seven pancakes.

On defense, left end Shintarou Okabe had nine tackles and two sacks while defensive tackle Sean Yamashita had seven tackles and three sacks. Despite one of the more tamer blowout victories of the season, the Magi did not commit any turnovers and neither Takayama nor quarterback Brad Parham got sacked this game, which is a rarity.

Madoka improve to 10-0 and return to action next week against Texas A&M.
