Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi overpowered the UCLA Bruins in prime time, 97-14, at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback Haruki Takayama passed for 329 yards and three touchdowns while backup Terry Miyanaga passes for 171 yards and three more scores. While the passing tandem of Trick and Terry punished the Bruins through the air, the ground game also did its part in helping the cause.

Halfback Jansen Onjouji ran for 127 yards and a touchdown, halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 178 yards and two majors, fullback Mike Gray ran for 58 yards and two more scores and Takayama also ran for a touchdown. Wide receiver Dee Dee Sonoda had four catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns, Onjouji had five catches for 94 yards and a score and wideout Shane Balogun caught six passes for 94 yards and a major.

Left guard Sean Scott led the blockers on offense with seven pancakes while allowing one sack. It was a quiet night for the defense, with cornerback Lea Eino and Tarzan Takagi delivering the only meaningful contributions with two interceptions each. Strong safety Chris Niskanen led in tackles with six.

Mitakihara improve to 7-0 and host Akiyuki Kaname's Texas Longhorns next week in what should be an exciting father vs. son showdown.
