Navy Midshipmen head football coach Hikari Sakishima brought the Puella Magi Option attack and Morning Rescue Defense to Annapolis from Mitakihara Town, B.C., in the hopes of bringing consistent play and execution. The play was there. The execution was there. However, the players weren't there. Sakishima's team lacked the right players to run the systems and Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi taught the Middies a lesson in running it right, 60-29, at the Sakura Bowl.

Quarterback Haruki Takayama passed for 304 yards and three touchdowns, halfback Jansen Onjouji ran for 77 yards and two scores, halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 111 yards and two majors, wide receiver Shane Balogun caught five passes for 101 yards and wideout Steve Takakamo caught four passes for 110 yards and a score.

Right guard Bo Aoyama led the blockers on defense with seven pancakes while four other players had four. Defensive tackle Sean Yamashita led the defense with 13 tackles, right end Dakota Okabe had 11 tackles and a sack and defensive tackle Harry Atago had an interception returned 56 yards. Fullback James Stanley, on the first offensive play for the Magi, returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown.

Madoka improve to 10-0 and return to action next week against the Oklahoma Sooners.
