Mitakihara rumble past Stanford, 75-20

Shaking off the injury to cornerback Howard Skinner, Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi carried in with the usuals and defeated the Stanford Cardinal, 75-20, at the Sakura Bowl. Quarterback Haruki Takayama passed for 239 yards and two touchdowns while rushinmg for 83 yards and another scores to lead Madoka to the win.

Halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 97 yards and two majors, halfback Gary Gumede rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns, fullback Mike Gray ran for 46 yards and a score and fullback James Stanley ran for 49 yards and another touchdown. Wide receiver Dee Dee Sonoda led the receiver with nine catches for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Center Marcus Anderson led the blockers with 14 pancakes while right guard Bo Aoyama had eight and left guard Sean Scott added seven. Defensive tackle Sean Yamashita had 10 tackles and a sack, cornerback Victor Ejide added eight tackles and an interception and fellow cornerback Tarzan Takagi added two more picks.

Madoka improve to 8-0 on the year and take a breather from facing ranked opponents when they face San Diego State in the renewal of the Battle for the Awai Oohoshi Cup.
