Halfback Bruno Okuno rushed for 139 yards and four touchdowns to lead Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi to a resounding 72-10 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback Haruki Takayama passed for 354 yards but struggled to find the end zone, throwing for an interception, despite rushing for 77 yards and two majors.

Backup quarterback Brad Parham ran for 112 yards and a score, halfback Ryan Johnson ran for 87 yards, wide receiver Jason Saka caught two passes for 80 yards and center Marcus Anderson led the blockers with 10 pancakes. Middle linebacker Ryan Kwarasey led the defense with 12 tackles and a sack while left end Shintarou Okabe added seven tackles and two sacks.

"I think this was a poor day for Haruki in terms of throwing the ball," said Coach Kaname after the game. "He missed several receivers today and couldn't find the end zone and also threw an interception. Even though he did run for a couple of touchdowns, he needs to a better job throwing a ball and capitalizing on the big play because you can't just throw the ball out there and expect one of our guys to catch it.

"The game against UNLV next week is Haruki's last chance to prove that he deserves the Heisman Trophy. If not, I have a very good feeling that Bruno is going to take it from him, given how well he's been playing this year."

Mitakihara improve to 11-0 on the season and conclude the regular season next week against UNLV.
