A driving rainstorm and a short turnaround weren't going to affect Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi, who took down Akiyuki Kaname's Texas Longhorns on Monday afternoon, 94-14, at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Tex. Quarterback Terry Miyanaga passed for 243 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 328 yards and six more scores. Halfback Clay Robinson ran for 172 yards and three more majors while halfback Jonathan White Cross ran for 93 yards and a score.

Wide receiver Shane Balogun caught five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown while wideout George Griffin caught four passes for 90 yards. Fellow wide receiver Steve Takakamo led the Magi in blocking with 27 pancakes while Robinson added seven. On defense, middle linebacker Danny Miyanaga had 12 tackles and a sack while left outside linebacker Patrick Hunter added 12 tackles and two sacks. Strong safety Shiroyuki Kaname added 10 tackles and a fumble returned 51 yards for a touchdown.

"Jansen [Onjouji] did not play today and unfortunately, he is still recovering from his torn pectoral suffered against Alabama," said Coach Kaname after the game. "We thought it would heal within two weeks, but apparently he will need more time to get that fixed. And this is why I don't do timetables regarding injuries because they are always wrong and rarely right. I told Jansen to keep his head up and let the injury finished healing because he did not get the all-clear from Dr. [Nao] Midorikawa, who will be retiring as Team Doctor following this season.

"We hope that Jansen will be available for the game on the 15th against Arkansas, but as I previously mentioned before, these things take time. I also told Jansen, we have a zero-tolerance policy for using painkillers, drugs, or anything artificial that would ease the pain short-team, but would leave you in worse shape in the long run. So I hope that Jansen is ready for the Arkansas game but Clay put on a good performance and we'll start him in case Jansen's not ready to go."

Mitakihara improve to 3-0 and return to action on Sept. 15 on the road against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
