Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi rolled past the Alabama Crimson Tide before a sellout crowd at the Stadio della Roma in Rome, Italy, 97-10, on Saturday. However, the injury came with a price: halfback Jansen Onjouji went down with a torn pectoral and will be out two weeks. Despite the injury, it was a strong showing for quarterback Terry Miyanaga, who passed for 280 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 353 yards and four more scores.

Halfback Clay Robinson ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns, Onjouji rushed for 77 yards and a major, fullback Joe Sato rushed for 44 yards and a score, wide receiver George Griffin caught five passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns and wideout Shane Balogun also had a receiving touchdown while leading the team in pancakes with 30. Left guard Sean Scott had 14 pancakes and right tackle Willie Khumalo added 13 pancakes while allowing two sacks.

On defense, left outside linebacker Patrick Hunter had 12 tackles and three sacks to lead the way. Free safety Haku Ichijou had two interceptions, middle linebacker Danny Miyanaga had 11 tackles, and both left end Ken Atago and defensive tackle Kent Nanase each had two sacks. Right outside linebacker Trevor Uzoenyi had a safety while cornerback Victor Ejide returned a pick 63 yards for a major.

Mitakihara improve to 1-0 and return to action stateside next week against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
