Mitakihara defeat Notre Dame on Homecoming, 56-21

Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi celebrated the Canadian Bicentennial with a solid 56-21 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Homecoming 2067 at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback Haruki Takayama passed for 180 yards and a touchdown while halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 204 yards and three scores.

Backup quarterback Terry Miyanaga passed for two touchdowns, fullback Joe Sato ran for 30 yards and two majors and wide receiver Shane Balogun caught four passes for 66 yards. Left guard Sean Scott led the blockers on offense with 12 pancakes. On defense, left end Ken Atago had 11 tackles and a sack while middle linebacker Danny Miyanaga added nine tackles.

"I just want to say to everybody out here...Happy 200th Birthday, Canada," said Coach Kaname. "You know, this country is awesome in so many ways...it's so unbelievable how better it gets with each passing year. To all Canadians around the world, this victory is for you. We are all Mitakiharans, and we are all Canadians. This is Canada's victory tonight."

Mitakihara improve to 6-0 and return to action next week against the Florida State Seminoles.
