Mitakihara fry South Carolina, 61-24

In prime time, Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi deep-fried the South Carolina Gamecocks, 61-24, at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C. This time, there would be no safety conceded and no laps needed to be run. Quarterback Terry Miyanaga passed for 340 yards, setting up the ground game for the halfback tandem of Clay Robinson and Jansen Onjouji.

Onjouji ran for 109 yards and four touchdowns while Robinson ran for 122 yards and two more scores. Miyanaga also ran for 57 yards. Wide receiver Anthony Rucker caught four passes for 66 yards, wideout Shane Balogun caught four passes for 75 passes and wideout Steve Takakamo caught four passes for 61 yards.

The offensive line was led by left guard Sean Scott, who had 13 pancakes. Right tackle Willie Khumalo had eight pancakes while right guard Brandon Freeman added six pancakes. Defensive tackle Kent Nanase led the defense with 14 tackles and four sacks. Left end Ken Atago had 13 tackles and a sack while his brother, right end Harry Atago, had eight tackles and two sacks.

Mitakihara improve to 10-0 and return to action next week against Notre Dame.
