Mitakihara win 54th National Championship!

Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi wrapped up their 54th National Championship with a 160-28 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks in the 2068 BCS National Championship Game at the Louisiana SuperDome in New Orleans, La.

For the last time, the tandem of Trick and Terry teamed up to provide the fans with a show. Quarterback Haruki Takayama passed for 239 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for two more scores. His backup, Terry Miyanaga, received more playing time this game, passing for 306 yards and three majors while rushing for 225 yards and three more touchdowns.

Halfback Jansen Onjouji ran for 173 yardds and three touchdowns, halfback Ryan Johnson ran for 123 yards and two more scores and halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 53 yards and a major. Wide receiver George Griffin had three catches for 77 yards and a touchdown, wideout Shane Balogun had three catches for 93 yards and two majors, tight end Flynn Sota caught two passes for 63 yardds and wideout Anthony Rucker caught two passes for 69 yards and another score.

Left guard Caleb Brown and wide receiver Steve Takakamo led the blockers on offense with eight pancakes. Cornerback Tarzan Takagi had three interceptions to lead the defense, while middle linebacker Adam Odunlami had 13 tackles and a sack. Freshman left end Lex Hasegawa had his best day playing on defense with six tackles and four sacks.

"This was a great season for our program, for our players, coaches, students and fans," said Coach Kaname after the game. "Everyone believed in the power of team. Everyone stepped up and did their share. My congratulations to our men, they did a fantastic job in defending our Pentagram. They're the best bunch of athletes I'm ever had the pleasure of working with."

Mitakihara end the season 13-0.
