Some magic was in the air on Saturday night at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C., courtesy of Trick. Quarterback Haruki Takayama passed for 459 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 71 yards and three more scores as Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi dismantled the Florida Gators, 87-17. Takayama's magic trick show was the main event, but there were sideshows to keep the partisan crowd entertained.

Halfback Bruno Okuno ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns, halfback Jansen Onjouji ran for 97 yards, wide receiver Dee Dee Sonoda caught seven passes for 139 yards and a major and wide receiver Steve Takakamo caught six passes for 149 yards and another score. Center Cole Wright led the blockers with 10 pancakes while right tackle Willie Khumalo added nine pancakes.

Left end Ken Atago paced the Magi defense with 11 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks. Cornerback Lea Eino continued his push for the Jim Thorpe Award with four tackles and two interceptions. Kicker Chris Emenike only went 9-for-10 with his extra points but had a career night with field goals, going six-for-six, including a season-best 50-yarder.

Mitakihara improve to 9-0 and return to action next week against the Oklahoma Sooners.
