Mitakihara ease past Michigan, 66-14

At the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C., Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi went to the ground and took it to the Michigan Wolverines, rumbling to a 66-14 victory before another sellout crowd. Quarterback Terry Miyanaga passed for 360 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 57 yards and another score, but once again, it was halfback Jansen Onjouji that took center stage.

Onjouji ran for 203 yards and five touchdowns, halfback Joe Sato ran for 97 yards, fullback Drew Childs ran for 33 yards and a score, backup quarterback Russ Opare ran for 32 yards and a major, wide receiver George Griffin caught nine passes for 189 yards and wideout Will Atsu added five catches for 94 yards and a touchdown.

Left tackle Mario Washington led the offensive line with 16 pancakes while left guard Caleb Brown added 15 pancakes, right tackle Willie Khumalo had 13 pancakes and center Arturs Virsaladze had eight pancakes while allowing a sack. Cornerback Henry Waris led the defense in tackling with 10 tackles. Five different players on defense each had a sack, while strong safety Shiroyuki Kaname added an interception.

Mitakihara improve to 9-0 and continue their home stand next week against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
