Mitakihara leave USC in the dust, 69-26

Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi left the USC Trojans in the dust, winning 69-26 at the Sakura Bowl in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback Terry Miyanaga passef for 183 yards and two touchdowns, halfback Jansen Onjouji ran for 147 yards and two touchdowns, halfback Joe Sato ran for 121 yards and three scores, wide receiver Will Atsu caught five passes for 65 yards and a major and wide receiver Steve Takakamo caught three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.

Right guard Mitch Zango led the blockers with 19 pancakes. Left tackle Mario Washington and left guard Caleb Brown each had 18 pancakes while right tackle Willie Khumalo added 10 pancakes. Left end Ken Atago led the defense with nine tackles and two sacks while left outside linebacker Joey Agyemang Badu had seven tackles and a sack. Strong safety Shiroyuki Kaname returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.

"I was pleased with the performance of this team because it was against a Top 5 opponent and the offense stayed out of the endzone when USC's special teams pinned us deep," Coach Kaname told the media after the game. "When we control the ball, we have to be composed and run it effectively, and both Jansen and Joe did what they were supposed to do. I'm giving them both the game ball."

Mitakihara improve to 11-0 and conclude their season next week against Notre Dame on Magia Day 2069.
