Mitakihara pummel Nebraska, 78-14

Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi were back on this road this week against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Neb. Quarterback Terry Miyanaga passed for 270 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 205 yards and two more scores, but it was the legs of halfback Jansen Onjouji that did most of the work as the Magi ran past the Cornhuskers, 78-14, in the fifth Game of the Week for Madoka.

Onjouji ran for 309 yards and five touchdowns, halfback Joe sato rushed for 84 yards and score and fullback Drew Childs ran for 75 yards. Wide receiver George Griffin caught six passes for 58 yards, Sato caught five passes for 66 yards and wide receiver Steve Takakamo caught two passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Wideout Will Atsu led the Magi in blocking with 27 pancakes while Takakamo added 18 pancakes.

Defensively, four different players had eight tackle each. Cornerback Henry Waris had a sack, strong safety Shiroyuki Kaname added a safety, free safety Haku Ichijou added a sack, and middle linebacker Danny Miyanaga was the other player with eight tackles. Left end Ken Atago had five tackles for loss and three sacks, while left end Lex Hasegawa had a pair of sacks.

Mitakihara improve to 6-0 on the year and conclude their road schedule next week against Ohio State.
