A number of new records were set by Mitakihara Magi head football coach Tatsuya Kaname following the team's 118-24 victory over the Brigham Young Cougars in the 2070 BCS National Championship Game in Pasadena, Calif. Coach Kaname has the records for longest win streak, national titles, bowl victories, career victories, bowl appearances, games coached, and years at a school.

"I am now closing in on my 60th season coaching this team and quite frankly, I'd like my time to continue just a while longer," said Coach Kaname from his home in Mitakihara Town. "I am really proud of the players for doing what they need to do to win games with style, and next season, our coaching staff will make sure the next group of players do their part to keep the ball rolling in our direction."

The 2070 Mitakihara Magi Football Schedule is being finalized by the Schedule Team. One thing is for sure: the Millbrook University Cherokees, of the NCAA Division I FCS Southern Conference, have been selected as their Homecoming opponent. Also, the Missouri Tigers have agreed to become a road opponent next season.
