Onjouji, Mitakihara rumble past Oklahoma, 90-14

Mitakihara Magi halfback Jansen Onjouji was playing out of his skins on Saturday against the Oklahoma Sooners. Onjouji ran for 411 yards and six touchdowns while catching six passes for 84 yards and another score as Tatsuya Kaname's Magi took Oklahoma to the cleaners, 90-14, at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman. Quarterback Terry Miyanaga passed for 179 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 312 yards and three more scores.

Halfback Joe Sato, a converted fullback, ran for 87 yards and two touchdowns while wide receiver George Griffin caught three passes for 33 yards. Wide receivers Will Atsu and Steve Takakamo each had 30 pancake blocks apiece, while Griffin hinself had seven and wideout Shane Balogun had five.

Middle linebacker Danny Miyanaga, who is a cousin of Terry along with his brother Sonny, led the Magi defense with 22 tackles. Meanwhile, defensive tackle Kent Nanase, Sonny, left end Ken Atago and right end Harry Atago each had two sacks. Cornerback Marlon Boakye added 13 tackles while fellow corner Henry Waris had an interception.

Mitakihara improve to 2-0 and return home next week for Homecoming 2069 against one of the first college football teams to ever play the sport, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
