Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi were not pretty happy that they let the Kentucky Wildcats hang with them late in their game last week, so against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, they took to the air and ripped them apart, 115-7, at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback Russ Opare passed for 238 yards and four touchdowns while backup B.J. Inkoom passed for 175 yards and two more scores.

Halfback Drew Childs ran for 207 yards and four touchdowns, Inkoom ran for 131 yards, halfback Shannon Wright ran for 142 yards and three majors, fullback Isaac Nwofor rushed for 64 yards and Opare ran for 51 yards and a score. Wide receiver Will Atsu caught six passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns, wideout Chris Babatunde caught four passes for 80 yards, wideout Larry Igebor caught two passes for 59 yards and two majors and wideout Marcus Mba caught three passes for 54 yards and a score.

Left tackle Jeremy Amoako led the blockers with 21 pancakes, while center Ricky Curry had eight pancakes, right guard Zach Kayange had seven and left guard Charles Sumaila had six. Cornerback James Boye returned an interception 97 yards for a touchdown, strong safety Daniel Manatsu had two interceptions including one returned 95 yards for a score and middle linebacker Ernest Macklin also had a couple of picks. Right outside linebacker Josiah Cofie had 11 tackles and sack to lead the tacklers on defense while defensive tackle Thomas Fields added two sacks.

Mitakihara improve to 9-0 and continue their home stand next week against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
