Two close matches in three weeks. That's the story for Tatsuya Kaname's Mitakihara Magi, who were engaged in a lock-stock-and-barrel wrestling match with Raul Chaser's Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who landed the top high school halfback in all of Canada, Leo Hashiri, weeks ago. The Magi got their revenge by defeating Notre Dame, 76-35, at Mitakihara Stadium in Mitakihara Town, B.C. Quarterback Russ Opare passed for 325 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 73 yards and another score.

Halfback Kodaka Onodera ran for 118 yards, halfback Drew Childs ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns and backup quarterback B.J. Inkoom also scored a major on the ground. Wide receiver Larry Igiebor had five receptions for 180 yards, wide receiver Will Atsu caught three passes for 30 yards and two touchdowns and tight end Michael Adomah caught two passes for 50 yards.

Left tackle Mario Washington led the team in pancake blocks with 16, while left guard William Carter added 11 and right guard Mitch Zango recorded eight. Free safety Jack Arashi had his first "Man of the Year" performance, with eight tackles and two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns. Cornerback Marlon Boakye had 10 tackles to lead the defense, while middle linebacker Ernest Macklin and strong safety Daniel Manatsu each had a pick.

Mitakihara improve to 10-0 and return to action next week against the Texas Longhorns.
