About Mitakihara Town Secondary School

Located five kilometres outside of Madoka Square and in the heart of uptown Mitakihara Town, Mitakihara Town Secondary School, or MiTSS, was founded in 2010 as the high school branch of Mitakihara University. Its headmaster reports to the Provost of Mitakihara University's main campus regarding all matters related to MiTSS. With a capped enrollment of 3,000, MiTSS is one of the largest high schools in all of Canada and also one of the most selective in terms of enrollment, as more than 100,000 applications are filed per year for admission to the school as first-year students.

Its 3,000 students are divided evenly into three classes: first-year (freshmen), second-year (sophomores) and third-year (seniors). At least 90% of the graduating third-year students are admitted to Mitakihara University as first-year students. Over 90% of the student body come from British Columbia, with smaller amounts coming from Alberta and the Yukon Territory. Commencement ceremonies take place one week prior to the University's Commencement Week at Tatsuya Kaname Field at Mitakihara Stadium.

The curriculum of MiTSS parallels that of Mitakihara University and involves important elements designed to prepare its students for university-level study. Community service projects are organized monthly, including projects during the summer and spring break. Organized trips to foreign location for student humanitarian missions or other special service projects with Canadian universities such as UBC, University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University and Quest University Canada are subsidized.

The athletic teams are called the Mitakihara Angels. MiTSS is a member of BC School Sports and its football team competes at the JV and AAA Varsity levels. MiTSS's main rivals include Mt. Douglas (its primary rival), Terry Fox, Vancouver College, Lord Tweedsmuir and WJ Mouat. The football teams use essentially the same colors as its University counterparts, but a different main logo and a different version of the rune M is used to differentiate MiTSS from Mitakihara University. MiTSS fields teams in the sports shown below.

"The Angels of Mitakihara Town
Are back again to turn the tide around.
No one can stop the might from ol' B.C.
We're gonna take to flight, it's on to victory.
The Rose and Pink and White will win the game.
Our boys and girls are on the road to fame.
And all the people soon will know our name:
(What's the name?) MiTSS! MiTSS! MiTSS!

Come cheer for our dear Mitakihara!
We play the game with full of heart and soul.
Our boys and girls raise the colors and the passion
Of our secondary school! HEY! HEY! HEY!
Tell all your friends and all your neighbours
That we're the best prep side around. (NUMBER ONE!)
There's no one that does it like
Our dear Mitakihara Town!

WE! ARE! The Angels of Mitakihara Town.
We're back again to turn the tide around.
No one can stop the might from ol' B.C.
We're gonna take to flight, it's on to victory.
The Rose and Pink and White will win the game.
Our boys and girls are on the road to fame.
And all the people soon will know our name:
(What's the name?) MiTSS! MiTSS! MiTSS!"
